One action you can take today to help SA break free from fossilised thinking
Watch & share our new #InvestFossilFree campaign video
Hello FFSA friends and supporters,
As we approach the end of the year, we have released our new #InvestFossilFree video summing up our campaign message.
Remember, our #InvestFossilFree campaign is asking asset managers to give us all the option of investing fossil-free, and as we ramp up this campaign towards 2024, we have one ask of you today.
Many of you have offered to volunteer when signing up to our newsletter. Today, the one act of volunteerism we’re asking you to embrace is to watch and share our new video, so that all of us in SA can accelerate away from fossilised investment thinking!
As usual, please also read on to see some of our latest campaign updates further below.
But first, do WATCH AND SHARE our video now.
Until next time,
Sarah and David on behalf of FFSA

Bite-sized updates on our most recent work
Our Clean Creatives SA campaign recently published an op-ed in the SA advertising industry's leading newsletter, Marklives.com, challenging the Loerie Awards to take bold action on climate change, and ban fossil fuel entries. Read the full story here.
As we ramp up our #InvestFossilFree campaign, FFSA recently had a meeting with Old Mutual to discuss updates on their responsible investment portfolio and the need for a South African fossil-free fund. We’ll be sharing more on that engagement soon.
FFSA coordinator David Le Page has written a piece on News 24 on two things South Africans need to know about the fossil fuel industry, explaining why we just can’t build real prosperity using fossil fuels any more.
FFSA sent a letter, signed by UCT students and staff, to UCT leaders on 8 October. The letter requested updates on UCT's commitment to climate leadership and fossil fuel divestment and reinvestment since they first made their divestment commitment. Read more about that interaction, UCT’s response, and the full letter, here.
